Sneakherheads

From its origins as a purely functional object in the sports world, to its emergence into streetwear through the Hip Hop scene in New York City – the sneaker has always historically been a symbol of masculinity and a form of male expression. As a result, the current female sneaker market offers little diversity in product, size runs, and colourways and an overall lack of female footwear designers.
Sneakherheads is a visual book created with the purpose of inspiring more women to participate in sneaker culture by highlighting seven female sneakerheads and their experiences in the male-dominated industry.
